My Substack Summer
Things I did and never regretted doing in Summer 2024
Highlights
☕ I made an infusion of peyote and ergot to prepare me for what I had to do
💌 I wrote a note to explain and enclosed a piece of my flesh to prove it
🎧 I found my noise-cancelling headphones because the work would get loud
📽️ I watched some old movies, the ones the cops came seeking but never found
❤️ I did it the Aztec way, access through the diaphragm, five quick incisions by feel
💬 I felt the radiance of my sacrifice being accepted by the old ones, a glow of hate
📜 I wrote an account of my visions in my own and others’ blood and it was good
🕵️ I read a million words and all of them were death death death death death

Have you made contact with the dimension beyond? Need to rein in the dread, curb the sense of foreboding and bleak shame? I’d love to dream your deepest imaginings along with you.
Maybe the excruciating agony will be diminished… or perhaps enhanced and intensified, which might be better for us both, after all.
Reading my work is like inoculating yourself with the flesh-eating necrotizing fasciitis bacteria. The flesh being dissolved off your bones is your erstwhile dependence on logical thought processes, and the glistening exposed tissue inside is your acceptance of the sublime beauty of your subconscious imaginary.
