Is it hot in here? Damn. This was evocative AF on so many levels.

OCD made flesh: … a white baton as pointer to point out the points of ingress and egress, the avenues of advance and the key shade-covered zones along the passageways. Passageways. He even repeated the word passageways …

Haha, very true... But isn't an OCD person the very best kind of person to carry out a meticulous heist?

Very sexy and seductive and double-meaninged. Almost adolescent in Robbie's carefully planned out fumblings.

And having just discovered your Kafka affinity I can now see that little extra influence in there too.

Loved it.

The story masterfully captures that liminal space between dream logic and waking consequence. The tight rhythmic structure mirrors Robbie's escalating entrapment - each iteration tightening the noose through its own internal consistency. This piece exemplifies how constraints in form can actually amplify the sense of strangeness and inevitability, making the mundane act of breaking and entering feel like a descent into something far more uncanny.

Gorgeous. The rhythm and pace sent me dream-state and enraptured, following in trance. Tell us about the artwork? Arresting.

Thank you so much, I was trying to get it precisely that way - free libidinal drive constrained by tight controls, an aesthetic cock ring of sorts. It's a free form riff that is then highly subject to a lot of formalism - strict word limits, poetic repetitions, other devices. The story itself reflects that, with the references to meticulous planning and at the same time spontaneous fantasy.

The artwork comes from a special off-grid AI pic generator that I branched away from an open-source one some time back and I've been adding to with libraries of open-source and public domain training input. So it's completely piratical and gives nice grainy results sometimes. The swoony girl is a bit slop but it fits the synthetic romanticism of the ending.

Thanks again for your appreciation and comment

I liked the contrast of swoony girl (dime store novel sweetheart) with heist man (a very strange and specific look, resonating divers, fetish dungeons, amphibians, monstrous hybrids). Agree that working with strict form & rules can throw the mind into a corner - and when cornered, we often dig deep deep deep. (Ew, depth metaphor yuk, but you know...).
