cadaver clearance...like its an eatablished genre!.

beautifully told. it was herod, right, but didnt feel middle eastern somehow. more mediaeval. liked the snake. vivid viperous vengeance. Gimlet ! such a great word. The circle is complete.

Yessssss it is indeed Herod, I wonder how many people get it, you're the first that I know of. Despite the clues I feel that people aren't catching on to that.

Of course the atmosphere might seem medieval, but then it's like - this is a story of absolute minimalism, dead bodies, empty square, where's the scope for any local colour?

I got it about halfway through. Massacre of the Innocents and all that.

It's a more realistic version ironically - of course the 3 astrologers wouldn't survive.
