Trust a tankboy to spot that little Eastern Front easter egg. Thanks baybee, I'm appreciative of your great comments!
Your novella is next up for me after ST McDonnell's book, BTW. I'm hoping to get into it this weekend, just reading the intro para for a taster got me salivating - such a class noir opening!
Perfection! You are a master. The best stories, for me, are the ones that subvert my expectations and surprise me again and again. This one did just that. 👏
Thanks, it's so satisfying to have great authors like yourself appreciate my work. After being rejected by lit journals I was wondering if this was in fact as good as I believed it. Your and others' appreciation makes me think that maybe it is.
[In fact I think I'll revive my Spanish-language translations and see if I can get some interest with this one in Spanish.]
Do you ever find yourself enjoying the lit mag stories though? I find them mostly pretentious and dull, as if the author was just checking off plot points they learned in some classroom somewhere. A rejection from a publisher like that is an indication you may be doing it right. 😆
Thanks so much for that appreciation HG, you know the feeling's mutual and I admire your work tremendously too, which makes your comment so much more valued.
this is some kind of masterpiece. unbelievably sharp, compelling, and of course hysterically funny. your characters are wonderful and your imagination boundless.
No better fate can be imagined for a bad guy named after a Panzer general! Great stuff, Murph.

I'm beginning to think you have a serious point there...
Yes, academic checklist literature.
should be renamed weirdness kit.
loved it.
loved the thought of a main character with a surgically extended dong waving in the breeze.
and you've taken an idea and taken it to absurd levels. Many giggles. And just desserts.
thanks for sharing this with me.
Happy you enjoyed it, Geoffrey, hope you drop in on my weirdness for a taste or two more of what's on offer.
It's not always a barrel of laughs - some of the stories get pretty dark - but I promise that it's never dull.
The fuck. Man, blowin my mind with this one. Perfection. The hype was justified.
And there was you hoping to earn infinity money returns on your crypto investments! 😁
Really happy to receive your appreciation, Seany!
You are some kind of genius. I’m really in awe of your brain space right now. Just, wow.

I'm so pleased that you liked it EJ, when such accomplished writers as you and Honeygloom like my stuff I feel I'm doing the right thing.
